We are happy to report that many of our adorable summer outfits are now back in stock. The peace sign T and sport short outfit SH-PT-SS, is perfect for your American Girl’s latest work out routine. If your 18” doll is a yoga follower, the 2 piece yoga pants set SH-GT-YP, is now available. Both of these great looks have been very popular as they are great outfits that can be worn as they come or mixed and matched with other 18” doll clothes that you might already have! So, not only are these super looking outfits for your American doll, they are a wonderful value. (shoes are not included with either of these outfits!)
This being Memorial Day Weekend, and the unofficial start of summer, this week’s Outfit of the Week plus FREE SHOES needed to be something that your American Girl doll could wear at all of the holiday parties she might be attending. SH-BS is an adorable one piece bathing suit that is colorful and a great value. The turquoise background is patterned with large colorful flowers in orange, purple and yellow. It slips on easily with the hook and loop closures at the shoulders. FREE WITH PURCHASE is a pair of polliwog sandals. These shoes are very versatile as they look great with a bathing suit or with shorts and jeans. The heart cut-outs add just a special touch of “cute” to these shoes. If your 18” doll needs to cover up, consider either of our terry cover dresses, SH-FTD in hot pink or DRYTD in yellow (not included in offer.) (through June 3, 2011)
This weekend celebrates Memorial Day, and a time to commemorate those men and women who died while in the military service. There are many celebrations taking place throughout the United States so why not check your local community and support those taking place nearest to you. Parades and block parties to honor those who have served are wonderful opportunities to support those who still serve our country and honor those who have served. So grab your 18” doll, dress her up in red, white and blue, and get out and wave some flags! Enjoy your holiday, have fun, and stay safe.
With Memorial Day weekend rapidly approaching, many of us are looking forward to a long weekend, parades, maybe even a trip to the beach. Taking your American Girl doll along with you is part of the pleasure of having an 18” doll. Here’s a cute way to have your doll along and look stylish at the same time. All you need is a 32” square scarf or even a 45” square table cloth. It is easy, looks great, and can serve as a carry all for your doll and an awesome looking purse for you! Here’s how you do it:
Lay the scarf facedown. Pull one of the corners to make a tail and knot it about 1/3 of the way in. Repeat this knotting on the scarf’s other three corners.
To make handles, tie the upper two tails together in a square knot (L over R, R over L)
Use a larger square scarf for a deeper bag.
The styles are endless depending on the scarves used and can be matched to your outfit!
Last week, I featured some of the snazzy new rhinestone tank tops so I wanted so tell you about something to wear with them! Now that the weather is feeling more like spring/summer, what better to wear with a tank than a great pair of denim shorts SPSH-DN. These shorts are constructed of dark blue denim with an updated white stitching. There are 2 real side pockets that have smaller “pocket watch” pockets for added detail. The shorter length is complimented by rolled hems that are stitched to maintain this great look. So now that you have your tank top and your shorts, will your doll run barefoot in the grass or consider a pair of sandals to wear? Either way, you have lots of choices for your American Girl ® doll at My Doll’s Life ®.
I guess that most of you know that American Girl® will be opening a new store in the Washington, DC area. Opening day is scheduled for June 18, 2011 with a variety of special events and festivities. There are currently American Girl® stores in the following cities: Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, and New York. Seattle is expecting an opening in the near future. If you have not had the opportunity to visit one of the AG stores, it is quite an experience. I have been to both the Chicago and New York locations and the excitement of the girls visiting both these locations was palpable. There is so much to see and do that it exhausted me to just mosey around the displays. Now, if you do not live close or plan to visit any of those locations, you can always shop for clothes that fit both American Girl® and Bitty Baby® dolls at My Doll’s Life® by going to www.doll-clothes.com. There you will find a large selection of clothing, shoes and accessories to fit your favorite 18” doll.
To help brighten our soggy spirits, I did promise you something bright and cheerful for this week’s Outfit of the Week PLUS FREE SHOES. This week features an adorable 2 piece outfit 15-GT-ST that will fit either an 18 inch American Girl® doll or a 15” Bitty Baby® doll! The pink gingham shirt has smocking on the front and back and has charming cap sleeves. The white denim skirt has three flounced layers in contrasting fabrics: pink polka dot and aqua interlock with the pink gingham repeated at the hem. This detail adds some wonderful dimension to this sweet outfit. Whether you dress your 18” girl doll or a 15 inch baby doll, you will be delighted at how adorable your doll will look. FREE WITH PURCHASE is a pair of aqua Pollywogs SSPW-AQ…which also will fit both an American doll and a baby doll! This outfit will surely make you smile…despite the weather! And in the event of more rain… the pollywogs are also great wet weather shoes! (through 5/27/11)

Give these a try this weekend… stay dry and stay safe!
This Saturday, 5/21/11, is Armed Forces Day. Originally conceived by President Harry S. Truman, was the idea to have one holiday for citizens to recognize and acknowledge the service of all military members. Officially created in 1949, Armed Forces Day always falls on the third Saturday in May. There are many things that you and your 18” doll can do to recognize our military service men and women. Why not start by dressing your American Girl® doll in something red, white and blue. A white skirt SPSK-WH-C with a navy & red plaid top SPPB-RD would be a great patriotic look. If you own a flag, you can make sure it is waving proudly. If not, you can make some American flags to hang in your windows by using red, white and blue construction paper. Finally, if you see any of our fine military personnel out in your community, be sure to take a moment and thank them for their service to our country.
A brightly colored shirt can make even the most boring pants or skirts exciting. We have some new tank tops that will certainly make whatever you pair with them fresh and trendy. These tanks SH-RS come in three colors: white, light pink and hot pink. The soft cotton fabric is ribbed to add texture and dimension to the shirt. A gently scooped neckline is framed with 11 rhinestones, which make this adorable tank top perfect for either casual or dressy outfits. If your dressing your American doll for an evening out with the family, why not try a hot pink rhinestone tank with a pair of our cropped jeans SPCJ and a pair of flowered espadrilles SFE. For a more casual look, your 18” doll can wear the white tank with a pair of distressed jeans SPFJ-DS and print pull on sneakers SVS-PR. Two different looks with the same shirt! These are great shirts at a great price.
