We have all heard of the Ides of March, but did you know that March is also National Nutrition Month? National Nutrition Month® is an education and information campaign created by the American Dietetic Association. The campaign focuses on the importance of making informed food choices and developing sound eating and physical activity habits. The theme for this year’s campaign is “Eat Right with Color”. I have heard the more colorful your plate, the healthier your food choices tend to be. Think about it…all of the colors in a bountiful salad: the greens of various types of lettuce, red, yellow and green peppers, white mushrooms, ruby red beets, and tomatoes. We all need to be aware of the food choices we make as we only have one body and it needs to last us a lifetime. Let’s all try to incorporate some healthier changes in our diets this month. Let me hear what you are doing to have a healthier lifestyle. Email me at Tori@mydollslife.com. Here is a link to the American Dietetic Association. There you will find a wealth of information about healthy eating, nutritional games to play with your family, and mouth watering recipes for colorful and nutritionally sound meals.
